If anyone actually still checks this place, I would like update the term tulpamancy with something more professional.  Also, other terms such as "tuppers" and things should have redirects to a tulpa page.

What would you suggest replacing the term "tulpamancy" with?

As for adding redirects and such, any contributions are highly appreciated. The only reason it hasn't been done more thoroughly already, is that no one has had the dedication to do it.

Happy editing!

I would suggest simply "tulpa creation" or something similar.  Tulpamancy has this spiritual/magical sort of connotation to it.

Tulpamancy (and tulpamancer) are colloquial terms; they should not be interpreted literally, or out of context. While I agree with you that "-mancy" has a magical origin, its current adaptation within the tulpa community, does not. Substituting it with "tulpa creation" (tulpa creators?) would be misleading in several ways; tulpamancy covers not only tulpa creation, but also everything that happens after a thought-form has been created. Referring to a tulpamancer as a tulpa creator would be misleading, since not all tulpamancers have created tulpas; cases of DID that have morphed into tulpamancy make good examples of this, as well as tulpas creating tulpas, or switching with their hosts in the long term.

Furthermore, the aim of this website is not to provide either a strictly scientific or strictly dogmatic view on the phenomenon. Rather, it is intended to present all manner of views from within the community, much in the same way as Wikipedia does. Therefore, there are cases where even the traditional meaning of -mancy would apply excellently within the context of a page.
